What is a 2019-W American Memorial Park Quarter worth?
It's scarcer than a typical date, so even circulated examples sell above face. The best uncirculated coins are where the money is.
What would make yours worth more:
- Uncirculated condition with full original luster
- A die variety or minting error
- Certification by PCGS or NGC, which buyers expect for scarce dates

Quick answers
- Is the 2019-W American Memorial Park Quarter rare?
- Somewhat. 2,000,000 were made, fewer than most dates, so collectors treat it as a semi-key.
- Is the 2019-W American Memorial Park Quarter silver?
- No. It's copper core clad in 75% copper / 25% nickel. Quarters dated 1964 and earlier are 90% silver.
- Where is the mint mark on a 2019 America the Beautiful Quarter?
- On the obverse, to the right of Washington's ribbon. "W" quarters were struck in 2019 and 2020 and released into circulation in small numbers. On this coin the mark is W, for West Point.
- How many 2019-W American Memorial Park Quarter coins were made?
- 2,000,000.
What to check on your 2019-W
- Make sure the mint mark really is a W. A worn or filled mark can be misread. It's what separates your coin from the 2019-P (143 million made).
- Proof or circulation strike? A proof has mirror-like fields and frosted design details and was sold to collectors, not released in change. The 2019-S American Memorial Park Quarter Proof (710,853 made) is the one to compare with.
- A face that's fully copper colored could be a missing clad layer error. Patchy discoloration is usually damage.
- Judge the grade under good light. Look for luster and freedom from bag marks. "W" quarters in circulation are worth a premium even in average condition.
The story of the 2019-W American Memorial Park
West Point made 2,000,000 of the American Memorial Park coin. Among the 5 designs of 2019 it was the second smallest West Point run, between Lowell (2 million) and War In The Pacific (2 million).
Denver struck more of the same design, 183 million, so the 2019-W is the scarcer of the pair by about 99 percent.
Across the whole program it's one of the West Point designs made in the smallest numbers, 2nd from the bottom of 10.
Elsewhere in US coinage in 2019
The West Point Mint struck quarters with a "W" mint mark for the first time and released them into circulation to encourage people to search their change.
How to recognize it
The American Memorial Park design
The Northern Mariana Islands are represented on the second 2019 quarter by American Memorial Park on Saipan. A young Chamorro woman in traditional dress stands at the front of the Flag Circle and Court of Honor, resting her hand on a plaque honoring those who died in the liberation of Saipan. The park memorializes American service members and Marianas residents lost in the 1944 Marianas Campaign of World War II. Donna Weaver designed the reverse, which Phebe Hemphill sculpted.
The America the Beautiful Quarter design
Each reverse shows a national park or other national site, one for every state, the District of Columbia and five territories, with the site's name, its state and E PLURIBUS UNUM. Five designs were issued each year from 2010 to 2020, followed by a final design for the Tuskegee Airmen in 2021. The obverse uses a restored, more detailed version of Flanagan's original Washington portrait.
